THE BAD HABITS I'M NOT GIVING UP ANYTIME SOON.

Yet another great meme from the Literary Feline over at Musings Of A Bookish Kitty, how could I resist joining in her ...

'My Bad Habits (That I Refuse to Give Up)'?

Mine being ...

Naming things. Way beyond 'Willy', 'Noel', 'Yak' and 'Son of Yak' to name but a few of our house plants I've now started naming inanimate objects - though in my defence only those objects that are particularly important to me such as Pooter (the laptop) and Madge (my electric wheelchair).
  • Doing FaceBook and other daft 'Quizzes'. Just a bit of harmless fun, or is it? Recently I've discovered (A) 'which song will be played at my funeral' (it's Angels by Robbie Williams for those of you who are even remotely interested), (B) 'which witch from literature I am' (would it surprise you to learn its Hermione Granger'?) as well as 'Named that Stephen King thriller' (a not too bad 8 out of 10) and happened upon my Halloween name (Lurking Web). I've included links below should one of the bad habits you refuse to give up be participating in such things.
  • Texting endless 'bad' jokes to Mr T's younger brother. A habit that can only get worse now that he is a convert to FaceBook.
  • Eating all manner of strange concoctions that turn Mr T's stomach. Apparently crisp (chips to those across the pond) and mayonnaise sandwiches are hardly Haute cuisine, peanut butter and sliced banana on toast is nothing short of nauseating and as for sardines with sage and onion stuffing? You don't want to know his thoughts on this.
  • Ssh, don't tell my audiologist but Falling asleep with the tv on. Classed as 'bad sleep hygiene' and apparently to be avoided at all cost. Something my sleep deprived, tinnitus suffering self doesn't want to know when unable to get to sleep because of all the various ringing, buzzing, whistling, hissing and so on.

.... Please do be sure to let us know if you do decide to play along in any of the above. Oh, and don't forget to share the bad habit(s) you refuse to give up.

I love to take those quizzes (they float through twitter sometimes) and I came up with the same witch as you did. I've not read those books, so I'm presuming Hermione is a good result?

I don't think I have any bad habits. ;) That's just MY opinion, though. Perhaps I should put that question to my husband as to what HE thinks my bad habits are.

So many books, so little time said...

Halloween Name - Dangerous Moon :D I love it

I always go to sleep with an episode of something playing, would be interesting to read the study.

I need to think what other "bad habits" there are, I also love the quizzes as you may have noticed on FB

Those quizzes can be addictive... I am hardcore with candy crush though

I used to do those quizzes, but the answers were so ridiculous, I stopped. That's funny that you name everything. How do you keep track of it all?

Figures! The first name of that last meme you posted would be Cursed! Of course. :p LOL

Why is PB and Banana gross? Now PB and marshmallow cream... Bleh! (I don't have a huge sweet tooth so that is just me... LOL)

You are too funny, Tracy! I surely have many bad habits, including calling myself "Mama" when I talk to my little dog (in a voice suited for babies), and spending too much time on Instagram and Words with Friends, when I really should be getting to sleep or doing something more productive!

I don't think you are alone in naming in animate objects. Think of all the cars that have names! I am guilty of your second one--doing FaceBook and those quizzes that really mean nothing but are fun to do anyway.

I got Hermoine Granger too. :-)

Fun post! I really like those random quizzes too. I haven't done too many recently, except which literary monster you are - I was Frankenstein's Monster. :)

First of all- I love those quizzes. I have always enjoyed things like that and used to do them in magazines all the time. :)

I can understand naming things! One of my best friends names everything around her!

I name things too, my Peace Lily is called Triffid after the John Wyndham novel, and because the leaves remind me of the huge monster plants! I think it's fun. My Halloween name is Frightful Shadow, which I love and I got 8/10 for the Stephen King quiz, I got Angels by Robbie Williams for my funeral song and Strega Nona was my witch personality! I love quizzes like these. - Tasha

I also love to name things and take these quizzes.

I took the Which Song will be played at Your Funeral and got AC/DCs Highway to Hell. Now that is a great quiz result!

OMG, I name inanimate objects too!! haha!! My husband thinks I'm weird that all our houseplants have names. ;-) - www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Ooh interesting meme. I haven't thought of a song for my funeral, either folk rock acoustic or an instrumental piece. As for bad habits I refuse to give up, it'd have to be eating cakes/chocolates after dinner, and watching crime shows during breakfast (or any meal, really).

I share the quiz taking habit at the very least...and that's coming from Jumpy Zombie. ^-^

ha! lol about naming everything and on those sardines with sage and onion stuffing. I can't.

Some of my bad habits are spending too much time on Instagram, buying yarn and books when I don't need to and talking to my chihuahua in a country/baby voice.
