OF HAIRCUTS AND GOOD NEWS.

I'd never really thought about it before but having shared the new look me on FaceBook  (yes, I took the plunge and had myself a haircut. It's amazing what finding out you have a brain tumour can do, next it will be a tattoo .... only joking should my mother-in-law be reading this) I received several comments along the lines that at last it was nice to be able to put a face to the name (just like on Pen and Paper I've never used a current photograph) and so for those of you wishing to do the same I give you ...

... me.

Yesterday I saw the neurosurgeon. Not expecting an appointment with him we naturally presumed the worst only to find out he just wanted to confirm what we had discussed at my last appointment in July (IE that it is benign, unpredictable but generally slow growing and will be monitored with regular MRI scans) and

to let us know Carrot was behaving itself and hadn't grown.

And on the book front ...

I was delighted to receive an email from João Cerqueira to let me know his book The Tragedy of Fidel Castro (see my review here) had won the Global Ebook Awards 2014 - Fantasy Historical Setting. Well done João.

It's really nice to see a photo of you, and I'm really sorry to hear the news about your brain tumour, but glad that you have some good news about it anyway.

Love the haircut and it is nice to be able to put a face with the personality behind the posts that make us smile so much. Delighted with your news too.

Hi Tracy,

I don't have a FB page and my Twitter image is a cartoon (probably best all round)! The small image you can see on my blog, is, as you have already gathered, very old and taken when I was much younger and very much slimmer! To put up a picture as I look now, would take much more courage than I have, so I take my hat off to you and your lovely haircut.

I am so pleased that 'Carrot' is behaving himself and that he is on a strict diet to prevent him growing any bigger! It does sound as though you are getting some good treatment and care from your hospital and that is so much of the battle these days.

Also, judging by the fact that your posts aren't lacking any of their usual wit and humour, it sounds as though spirits remain high in the Terry household... and long may it continue to be so!

Yvonne.

So nice to see a current photo - it's lovely and I really like the haircut! I've always pictured you with the curly 'do' you had in an earlier profile shot.

Nice to get the confirmation on the tumor situation, as well.

I had no idea you had a brain tumor...but I'm so happy to hear that it's benign. Love the haircut; and it really IS fun to see a face behind the blog sometimes. :) My picture can be seen under my About Me tag at the top of my blog!

Yay! It is great to put a face to the name. So glad to hear your health news was good. I hate that call...they always get you all worked up but there are so many stupid regulations now, they're limited in what they can tell you on the phone, darn it!

So happy that carrot is not growing and is staying the same. Yeah! I am sending lots of good vibes your way that he keeps behaving.

I am so glad Carrot hasn't grown and remains benign. I know how worried you must have been.
