A 2012 POST LOOK BACK.

Having had such fun taking part in last years FIRST LINES MEME I thought it a great idea to carry on with the tradition again this year.

Care to join me? As Suko informed us last year all you have to do is ........

"Take the first line of each month's first post over the past year and see what it tells you about your blogging year"

JANUARY (Wishing you all a happy New Year) .....
Remember ....

FEBRUARY (The worst ever rhyme in a popular song) .....
I love some of the weird and wonderful questions featured in the Guardian newspaper's Notes And Queries page.

MARCH (Too scary) .....
Today I bring you a Folk Lore post with a bit of a difference.

APRIL  (Maisie Dobbs (is) waiting for sunrise) ......
(Hmm, an odd one as there was no first line, merely the images of two book covers)

MAY (The Lieutenant) ......
As a boy, Daniel Rooke was always an outsider.

June (A 'not the fizziest drink in the fridge' special) ......
I love the articles featuring the antics of the, err, shall we say, the criminals that are a teddy bear short of a picnic and now, thanks to various newspapers, can post these 'awards' in honour of these less than intelligent criminals.

JULY (B is for bus, butter and buttons, c is for ...) ......
Double decker bus turned into a home.

AUGUST (Books in the news) ......
Though looking a little chubbier if not totally dissimilar on the right we have David Suchet as the latest tv version of Agatha Christie's Poirot and, on the left, a rare 1924 edition of a book that, originally costing 7/6 (just over 37p), recently sold at auction for over £40,000 smashing the world record price for a book by the author.

SEPTEMBER (When I grow up) ......
..... I want to be just like you.

OCTOBER (Banned: Green Eggs And Ham) ......
As you may have noticed it's Banned Book Week and I'm delighted to be joining Book Journey's Sheila (our hostess with the mostest) along with lots of other bloggers who are also participating in Jump On The Banned Wagon.

NOVEMBER (The Great Magician) ......
Normally a big fan of this author, as far as I'm concerned he wasthe best when it came down to fiction based in Egypt at the time of the pyramids and Pharaohs.

DECEMBER (Restaurants I probably won't be eating in) ......
Just as we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, should we judge a restaurant or product by its name?

Cute idea. Mine wouldn't be as interesting. :)

How fun! I missed blogging too many months last year to be able to do this.

What a fun idea! Mine would probably be boring as my first lines are usually a review synopsis. :)

I just know that you're never supposed to trust a skinny cook or clean restaurant.

Those are some cool first lines!

Terrific first lines! I'm a big fan of your blog and your writing style, and your opening sentences immediately draw me into your posts. (I may need to read a few of your posts again....)

Thanks for linking to my first lines post! Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

I was going to do this one year but all my first lines turned how to be horribly boring! You, however, did not have that problem.
