In what is billed as a literary first, 26 crime writers have teamed up to write a novel ..... each of them writing a chapter based on a plot outline assigned to them.
Telling the story of Jon Nunn, a detective haunted by a case he thought he'd cracked 10 years ago, NO REST FOR THE DEAD is published this week and is written by authors including .......
- Alexander McCall Smith
- Kathy Reichs
- Raymond Khoury
- RL Stine
- Faye Kellerman
- Tess Gerritsen
- Jeffrey Deaver.

Oh and be sure to let us know which authors you'd like to get together to write a book.

Those are some great authors! But 26 crime writers writing a novel seems very...weird. Hmmm.. I will check out some reviews.
Definitely some great authors - but I'm with you - I have a few authors I like to read (by themselves) - not all combiend into one. Hope you and the hubby are doing well. I've been having a hard time posting - hopefully this one will go through! :)
Ya thats quite odd!! Kathy and Faye are among your favorite authors arent they?
Have a wonderful week ahead :)
I was taken by the title of the book. But when I saw the cover, I was thinking whats that essay on top of the title ! Oh well, I'm not a great fan of different authors' collection either.
i'm with you, too. a book by many authors combined into one wouldn't appeal to me either.
i have heard about that book though...they say it's a good read.
big hugs!

None! Well, not completely true as there have been examples of couples who have written excellent crime fiction, but 26? I don´t think I´d read it if I had it thrown after me, no matter how good the individual writers are. And these people are sooo different.
I agree with Dorte... the authors here that I'm familiar with all seem to have different writing styles. I just don't see how this could work that well. And yes, I've read books written by husband/wife and mother/daughter teams before, but that's entirely different.

I think some of the PNR/UF authors could get together and write something interesting. I'd be curious at least at how the book would turn out!
Great post, I will check out some reviews :)
Hugs

That seems a little crazy. Everyone has their own voice, you would think the book wouldn't flow very well.
The only author I recognize off that list is Kathy Reichs--it's an interesting idea, having writers come together to write a story based on an assigned plot, but I have to wonder if it stunts creativity the authors would have had otherwise.
Which authors I'd like to see get together? Eoin Colfer, Terry Prachett, and Neil Gaiman would make an interesting combination . . .
Wow! This sounds like quite a project. What happens when you put so many talented writers together? I will investigate.
hmmm, this is a new idea to me. I don't know if I would like it either. Each writer has their own style and it would constantly be changing as the book goes. I'm curious to hear what others thing of it. Thanks for letting us know.
A competition for the exceptionals.
Looks good to me
I bet this will be an awesome collection! Great authors there.
