FROM FASHION TO SNORING.

The stories from Paris Fashion Week .... What's hot in menswear for Spring/Summer 2012.

I don't know which is worse, the clashing of all those checks OR the the sandals worn with socks.

The debut menswear collection from Kim Jones was greeted with raves from everyone in Paris. The Central Saint Martins graduate presented a super-polished collection of modern, travel-inspired menswear with a sporty zing.

And so onto yet more fashion disasters.

Hats are the new bags ......

Designer: Thom Browne.

 Designer : Comme des Garcons.
- Simon Chilvers, The Guardian (29/06/2011)

Yes, it's also that time of year when toy manufacturers predict the must have toys for Christmas 2011 ...... You have been warned.

£200 INFLATABLE DALEK - MUST-HAVE CHRISTMAS GIFT. According to Hamleys, the £200 sit-in inflatable Dalek will be the must-have Christmas gift this year.
Some traditional toys remain popular including Lego. - Alexandra Topping, The Guardian (29/06/2011) For more of this years 'must-have' toys click on the article link.

Either you've got it or you haven't ...... size five feet that is.

WOMEN WITH SIZE FIVE FEET MORE ATTRACTIVE TO MEN.The formula for a perfect woman's foot is a size five, wearing three inch heels and red toe nail varnish, according to the study. The Telegraph (02/07/2011)

The lengths some people will go to to find lurve ......

BRITISH BANKER BECOMES WITCH DOCTOR. A banker who was unlucky in love has qualified as a witch doctor to improve his chances of finding a wife.
Thomas Heathfield, 32, vomited goat’s blood and danced for tribal elders in order to become a practising sangoma in South Africa.
“I’m hoping to marry a South African woman, whether she’s black or white, as long as my ancestors are happy about her.” - Adrian Shaw, The Mirror (02/07/2011)

You've heard of Puss In Boots, how about Pooch In Boots?

JAX GETS BOOTS. Jax (pictured below), a Jack Russell terrier from Devon has been dressed in special boots because it is allergic to grass.

Owner Maria Domanic, 59, from Kingsbridge, acted after Jaxs seemed in pain and gnawed at his paws after walking on grass. - BBC News (02/07/2011)

How about this for a portion of fish and chips?
Chefs 'battered' the world record for the largest serving of fish and chips.
The Wensleydale Heifer, a chippie in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, fried a 40lb fillet of halibut coated in over 4 gallons of batter, 60lb of chips and a vat of mushy peas.
Feeding 250 people, the title was last held by The Black Rose Restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. - The Sunday Sun (03/07/2011)

And last but not least, my favourite article this week ....

HOTEL GETS SNORE MONITOR. Guests at a Birmingham hotel will be able to sleep soundly after managers appointed a Snore Monitor to patrol its corridors.
Devine Caddick is the ‘sleeping policeman’ at the Crowne Plaza, near the NEC, making sure guests are not disturbed by snoring from neighbouring rooms.
He will check snore decibels coming from guests’ rooms. If the sound reaches more than 100 decibels he will knock the door to let occupants know they may be disturbing fellow guests. - Brett Gibbons, Birmingham Mail (01/07/2011)

PLEASE NOTE : Wherever possible I will endeavour to bring you the links to articles I have used in my Media Monday posts but this is not always possible.

Too funny! Can you imagine the average man wearing any of those ridiculous get-ups? And an inflatable Dalek? Really? Do kids even watch Dr. Who? Love these articles!

And by the way, Hektor and I are discussing having an open relationship, and he doesn't mind me flirting with the new nook. I don't think I'm a traitor, as I have enough love for them all! *L*

I sometimes have to wonder if these fashion designers are just trying to pull our leg with what they put out there. Seriously!

UK men have been waiting decades for fashion gurus to notice the socks n sandles trend. Not sure the model's legs are while enough or his knees knobbly enough :)
