Inspired by this MOVIE SOUNDTRACK POST on Kelly's Thoughts And Ramblings blog I thought I'd share one of my favourite clips from the film O Brother Where Art Thou?

Despite the fact this is one of my husband's favorites, I've never sat down and watched it from start to finish. That doesn't mean I can't sing along with alot of the music, though! Thanks for the link. :)
This movie is based on the tale of Ulysses. Set in the American South in Mississippi, it includes many elements and characters of Homer's "The Odyssey".. There was a bent in the South toward Greek Revivalism in the 1850s up thru the early 1900s. Many men and women were named Greek names. The main character, played by George Clooney was called Ulysses Everett McGill. The governor of Mississippi was called Menelaus "Pappy" O'Daniel. It is full of old timey Country Music and some early Blues performed by local musicians and choirs. It is truly a wonderful movie.
Egads! I've never seen this film before...but I have heard bits from the soundtrack when it first came out. Caused quite a stir. Will have to add to my "need to watch" list. Thanks for the share!

This is one of my favorite scenes, too, and I love the music. The Man of Constant Sorrow is another favorite song from the film.
