Richard is a modern day everyman; a middle-aged divorcee trading stocks out of his home. He has done such a good job getting his life under control that he needs no one. His life has slowed almost to a standstill, until two incidents conspire to hurl him back into the world. One day he wakes up with a knotty cramp in his back which rapidly develops into an all-consuming pain. At the same time a wide sinkhole appears outside his living room window, threatening the foundations of his house.

'They say every person on the planet can be linked to any other six steps or less BUT what about books?
Books can be linked in obvious ways - for example, books by the same author, from the same era or genre, or books with similar themes or settings. Or, you may choose to link them in more personal or esoteric ways: books you read on the same holiday, books given to you by a particular friend, books that remind you of a particular time in your life, or books you read for an online challenge'.

This Book Will Save Your Life.
#1 THE MAN WHO FORGOT HIS WIFE. Far from merely waking up with a knotty cramp in his back, Vaughan, a middle-aged divorcee, wakes up, having suffered an amnesia style fugue, to find he'd lost his memory, forgetting his wife, in this bitter-sweet read.
#2 THE OTHER MRS JORDAN: A TRUE STORY OF BIGAMY AND BETRAYAL. Talk about waking up and forgetting your wife! This is the ultimate tale of betrayal. The real-life story of Mary Turner Thomson whose life was blown apart when told her husband, the father of her children, had another wife.
#3 NO TIME FOR GOODBYE. Another novel, this one fictional, of lives torn apart as Cynthia awakes to find her family gone. Have they been murdered? Abducted? If they are alive, why did they abandon her?
#4 MYSTERIES OF RAVENSTORM ISLAND #1: THE LOST CHILDREN. Just as Molly's brother disappears a dark and dangerous secret is uncovered in this story full of amazing characters not least of whom is an ancient butler with a secret of his own.
#5 AWFUL AUNTIE. Another favourite butler of mine. I adored the elderly, forgetful, Gibbon who, amongst other mishaps, served hot, buttered carpet slippers in place of toasted crumpets.
#6 SORTING OUT BILLY. Like David Walliams (author of Awful Auntie) Jo Brand is another comedian who has tried her hand at writing a novel though sadly if this is anything to go by not nearly as successfully.

Love this meme, as it's so creative! Thanks for sharing! :)
Terri @ Alexia's Books and Such...
What a great idea! And This Book Will Save Your Life sounds fascinating. Love the doughnuts on the cover.
There are some very interesting looking books in your contribution this month. I remember some of your reviews, but need to look at some of these others a little more closely.
Good job this month!
Another very clever edition of this meme! January went by too quickly--is it February already (someone has a birthday soon!)?
Ha! Now that was pretty cool. I can't help but notice the unexpected connections between books i read sometimes. Whether it's character name, location, topic...there's been a connect the dot game recently with my book picks.
I’ve just added This book will save your life and Awful Auntie to my must treat myself to list! I’m excited to read them both. Thanks for telling us about them. Barbara x
Oooh, the books you chose are all so mysterious sounding. I tell you what though, I would not be pleased to be presented with an old slipper when I was looking forward to a hot crumpet!
What a fun meme! And now I'm craving a donut :-)
You have chosen another neat series of connections Tracy.
This Book Will Save Your Life sounds like it may be very good. I agree with Mary, the cover makes me want to go out and buy some donuts.
Hi Tracy,
This looks like a fun meme and your easy to follow post, illustrates so well, just how connections can be made between seemingly unrelated book. This might be one I am tempted into joining next year.
I must admit that Jo Brand's books do come in for some pretty mixed reviews, as do Dawn French's. Perhaps this illustrates the case in point, that you should stick to doing something you know well, where you are almost always guaranteed to fare the best!
Great post and an excellent run of books.
Yvonne.
I really enjoyed This Book will... when I read it, I'd like to re-read it one day. Great meme and love the choices. I forgot to do it again!
