CREAM TEAS AND CHAMPAGNE WITH A DASH OF BREAST MILK.

Now that I know what makes the perfect cream tea I can sleep soundly at night ...... Rodda's, a family run creamery based near Redruth, Cornwall, commissioned mathematics and statistics expert Dr Eugenia Cheng of Sheffield University to create a formula identifying the perfect scone, cream and jam ratio used to make up a cream tea. MORE

And what could be better to wash down your perfect scone than a nice cuppa with ...... breast milk. Model, TV presenter and classically trained musician Myleene Klass has told of of how she likes a cup of tea with breast milk (she claims it tastes just like one of those probiotic yoghurt drinks - not that I'm sure I'd want this in my tea either PW), a tradition that has carried on ever since her dad took a dash of it in his tea. MORE

It didn't take Sherlock Homes to work this one out ..... A photo taken on a mobile phone led to big trouble for one 31 year old man. Found by police investigating his drugs gang the photo showed the man posing for the camera next to his name written in cocaine. MORE

Question: When is a permanent structure not a permanent structure? Answer: When its inflatable. A woman from Egremont, Cumbria, was stunned when council chiefs who wished to a site inspection demanded to know if she had planning permission for her blow-up hot tub which, measuring 4ft by 2ft, looks like a children's paddling pool. MORE

Protecting ones self from the British weather ......... We know that Vaseline can protect you from chapped lips in the winter, or Britain’s current inclement climes, but making body armour out of the petroleum jelly is perhaps taking things a bit too far ..... (and yet that is exactly what) South Korean artist Jung-ki Beak did when he was inspired to make a Game of Thrones-esque protective garment. MORE

If only I was more technologically minded..... Videos of cute cats doing adorable things on YouTube your sort of thing? Then this could be the job for you.

More

How the other half live ...... British millionaire spends £330,000 on ONE round of champagne at Monaco club. MORE

I always said low-slung trousers were a criminal offence. Two teenagers who bragged about robbery on Facebook were caught two days later wearing the same underwear which could be seen hanging out of their low-slung trousers on the CCTV images that led to their arrest. MORE

It's funny how often criminals get themselves caught with their own stupidity.

And looking at the scones in that first bit... maybe the perfect ratio, but it looks a little heavy on the jam for my taste.

I do not believe that I have ever partaken in creme tea. As a lover of all things that involve high quality food I realize that this is an unacceptable lapse. I must rectify this ASAP.

The picture in the linked article looks so very good.

Hi Tracy,

The day I need a mathemetician to tell me how to eat my cream tea, then I know the world has 'gone to hell in a handcart'! Are we really paying people to come up with this drivel, if so please send me an application form.

Reading your article about Myleene Klass, really did make me feel quite physically ill ... boy am I glad that I take my tea and coffee black!! Please don't tell me that she actually finds something attractive about Keith Lemon either. The poor woman must have lost all sense of reason!

A good laugh as always! Have a great week,

Yvonne

Not changing your underwear should be a criminal offense!

Your stories are as odd as ever! A lot of this disturbs me, but I love the ad for the Cat Video Technologist!

Um... who is suppling the milk???

Btw, I don't have a tech minded cat, but I do have a tv watching dog... do you think he could get that job? LOL (yes, I do get it was for a human...)

Thanks for this entertaining mix of the sublime to the ridiculous! Great stories.

Have only had cream tea a couple of times, but didn't need a mathematician to tell me how to make it! And stupid criminals always make me smile! Another great post! :)

Breast milk in tea? Oh gosh, I can't even imagine. It's like taking the end of Grapes of Wrath to a modern level. haha

And bragging about a robbery on facebook is dumb in the first place. sheesh.

Sorry I don’t agree – my perfect scone needs more cream and less jam! As for breast milk, well I guess it’s perfectly natural, but I can’t say I’ve ever tried it! Wearing the same underwear for two (or was it three?) days is just criminal – they deserved to be caught. The news on your blog is always far more entertaining than anything on TV!

The article about the thieves almost had me spit out my water. That's so funny. The things criminals do . . .

Vaseline can be used for just about anything, didn't you know? ;-)

Wonderful links today!

Hmm, I might be able to pull that cat position off...then again, maybe not. LOL. As for the milk issue...again? Really? Weren't we done with that? Silly people...I shan't be trying it anytime soon, that's for certain. Thanks for the smile!

Too funny about the criminals and how they were caught (underwear and photo with their name in the cocaine). These stories always amaze me!
