THANKING YOU .......

My thanks to .......
  • HEATHER who very kindly sent one of her traditional Valentine Day postcards.
  • MELISSA who informed me that I'm the winner of a $15 MUNDANIA PRESS voucher. Wonderful news, my book of choice is ........

  • JOAN  for this award ....
In return for which I'm supposed to list 7 random things about myself.

Would it then be rude to 'kill two birds with one stone' by combining the answers with the tag below?

No? I'm so glad you said that because ..........

  • I've been tagged by DIZZY C who asks ..........
My favourite room in the house? Well I can tell you it certainly isn't the kitchen - my ma-in-law bought me a mug with the words 'I only have a kitchen because it came with the house' along with a coaster bearing the legend 'If it fits in the toaster I can cook it'. Seriously though, my favourite room would have to be our bedroom. Painted rubber duck yellow, it's such a warm room and I love reading there.

My favourite season and why? Not a fan of extremes of temperature, I like Spring when the world is waking up, the flowers beginning to show their faces. Yet again, I also like autumn when the leaves are beginning to turn that lovely golden russet colour.

My favourite drink? Can I have two? I love Husband dearest's banana milk shake on a hot day. Made with milk, banana and vanilla ice-cream and blended until it's really frothy, it is really refreshing. AND on cold day I enjoy a nice hot chocolate, preferably with marshmallows on top.

If you could travel back in time, which era would you drop into? I don't even have to think about this one ....... Ancient Egypt. I don't know why but I have always been fascinated by Pharaohs and mummies.

Technology wizard or not? Not. As long as things are going well I manage to do what I need to do, it's when things go wrong that I don't have a clue other than to switch things off before switching them back on again in the hope that the problem has magically sorted itself.

My favourite sandwich filling? At the moment I'm pretty partial to a mushroom and Camembert cheese panini.

My earliest childhood memory? Hmm, can I go with my earliest bookish memory? I can't think how old I was but I remember being off school with some childhood ailment or other and sitting on my nana's knee whilst she read me The Folks Of The Far Away Tree by Enid Blyton.

Early bird OR night owl? Neither, seriously I'm only at my best mid-day.

My favourite board game? I'd love to say Monopoly but whenever I play it with Hd it always ends in a row as, a long story but basically, he doesn't believe I have an automatic right to buy all the train stations, SO, I'm going with Dixit which is similar to Scrabble only more fun.

Sweet or savoury? There's only one way to answer this ........ chocolate.

My favourite scent? (Pictured left) Nina Ricci's Nina Femme - a beautiful bottle AND it smells heavenly, one of the few perfumes that doesn't affect my asthma.

So, the easy part over, I'm now supposed to pass the award on to 15 other bloggers as well as tag 11 others, asking them 11 questions. Hmm!

A bit of a cop-out really BUT I'm going to award each and every one of you the Versatile Blogger Award AND tag all of those who wish to be tagged by asking the following 8 questions so please feel free to join in and get typing NOW.

  • I've invited you for a meal, what would be your preference ..... (A) A picnic at a local beauty spot OR (B) A takeaway of your choice at my house OR (C) A slap-up meal at a posh restaurant?
  • What contemporary novel should be added to the high school curriculum? *
  • The childhood book/toy you most wanted but never got
  • Song that could be the theme tune to your life
  • Name the two people, real or fictional, you'd most like to have dinner with and why
  • Name the two book/film characters (the choice is yours) you'd least like to meet in a darkened alleyway and why
  • What was your worst fashion disaster? (A photo would be great)
  • Any nicknames?
* Shamelessly pinched from Jenner's ANSWERING SOME ECLECTIC AND ECCENTRIC QUESTIONS post.

Looking forward to reading your answers,

PS Many thanks to ANIMEWOOKIE who has also recently tagged me - I will post my answers to her questions soon.

Nice post Petty :)
That's a nice memory of reading with your nana.
And what a pretty perfume bottle.
Now I'm craving a bananna milk shake.

Great post Tracy and congrats on the prize as well as the award! Let's see....questions to answer...*think think think* Here we go...
1. B...though the others are great too, there's nothing wrong with comfortable surroundings.
2. I'm gonna pass on this one...as an answer is escaping me at the moment...*chases answers...to no avail*
3. Umm...is it wrong to say none? My Mom kinda spoiled me so I never really went without...it helped though that according to her I was a "most sensible child"...
4. Depends on what moment you catch me in! Usually it's the Flight of the Bumblebee...ha!
5. Fictional wise...too many to name. Real life wise...I'd have to pick my online blogger friends (you'd be amongst them!)...but the table needs to be MUCH larger than 2 if you please.
6. Oh dear...*-*...the warden from the ESCAPE FROM FURNACE series (~scary creepy evil dude~) and that Chainsaw Massacre person, wait strike that...that whole family. ~shudders~ I'll spare you the details on each since they are google-able but the thought alone would send me to a "better place".
7. Sorry, no photos....have to say it'd be the time I wore a white silk shirt...and it rained. *-* Nuff said.... *ugh*
8. Nope...I'm boring in that area.
TADA! Hope you enjoyed the interlude...remember, you asked for it! LOL! Happy reading!

That cup idea was funny. I know someone I could give that to and really chocolate is the best answer for anything.

Congrats on your wins! I like my bedroom the best too - it's the brightest spot to read. And if anyone else buys the railroads I am not happy (except we have the professional golf version, so they are tournaments instead of railroads). It's funny, my kids are going to grow up thinking that Boardwalk is Pebble Beach. :)

Glad that the postcard arrived so quickly.

My fav room in the house would be which ever I happen to be spending time in. Could I include the hottub, it's out on the deck. As for the kitchen, I'd love one that's about twice as big.

I loved reading your answers and, like GMR, I think I'll answer your questions right here. :)

1. I think I would opt for B as it would be the most comfortable and perhaps the best food!

2. Off the top of my head, I might say "The Book Thief". Or, perhaps, "Waiting for Columbus".

3. A scooter! And we're not talking the electric kind, but the old-fashions kind you stood on and propelled with one foot.

4. I've tried to answer this in the past and just can't come up with one! Maybe "Stayin' Alive"?

5. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic here, so I'm gonna say my parents. Both have been gone many years and all of my adult life, so I'd love the chance to visit with them.

6. Oooo, there could be many answers to this one. Lisbeth Salander, for one, because she is one bad female! And, since I just read a collection of crime stories from the 30s and 40s, I'll say any of the gangsters of that day.

7. I'm off the hook on a photo since I'm doing this here, but probably anything I wore in the late 80s. That was NOT a good time for fashion, IMO!!

8. When I was very young my Dad would sometimes teasingly call me ratfink. :) I always wanted a nickname growing up, but other than shortening Kelly to "Kel" I never really got one.

Heh... I feel the same way about the kitchen. Well, actually I like to eat so I don't hate it, but cooking? Na... LOL

Yes, I'm so glad you did this. I love knowing about peeps.

Oh but I'll answer at least ne question.. and it's not the walking fashion disaster that I am (I have a permanent black bar that goes across my eyes at all times... ). Let's see 2 characters I'd least like to meet in a darkened alleyway. I'll say Voldemort and the unseelie court from the Fever series.

Oh, I have to say Spring is one of my favorite seasons as well. :) Love all the great answers.

1. B. So we could get better acquainted. I love Toaster foods--LOL

2.Atlas Shrugged--too heavy??

3. I can't think of wanting for anything! We weren't rich- but we were--does that make sense?

4. Strawberry Fields Forever, by the Beatles. or the One you just heard by Bob Seger--yeah that one!!!!

5. Jesus--wait He would have to be second because that would be The Last Supper right--ar ar-- and probably Robin Williams.

6. Wow--Tough call-- Rooster Cogburn of True Grit- He was just so cool!!! Neo of the Matrix- because he took the right pill!

7. The 80's period--Does Disco and an afro say enough--and I'm white!!!

8. Never had one that stuck and that has always bothered me!

GREAT FUN POST!
