HO-HO-HO TO BATTLING PENSIONERS AND A LOAD OF OLD RUBBISH.

Not that I would ever condone violence BUT just as knights of old would joust to win the fair-hand of a maiden it seems the traditional horse has been replaced by the more modern mobility scooter.

MOBILITY SCOOTERS AT DAWN. A love triangle involving two pensioners ended in violence when an old romantic punched his love rival - as he trundled along on his mobility scooter.
Lloyd Shea, 67, flew at Michael Blick, 69, shouting 'If I can't have her, nobody else will'  before striking him twice in the face after seeing him leave his ex-fiancee's home.- The Daily Mail (29/07/2011)

And now for my next trick .......

A magician's street show was reaching its climax before it was brought to an abrupt end by a street warden who said he could be prosecuted for littering.
Kenneth Lightfoot's grand finale involved 'magically hurling' a playing card on to a roof 80ft away.
But the warden told the magician that if the card fell to the ground he could be in trouble. - The Telegraph (29/07/2011) Read more in the Mail by clicking HERE.

As if the year isn't going fast enough ...

SHOP OPENS CHRISTMAS DEPARTMENT.Oxford Street, London, on a 25C day is hot enough to make Rudolph wilt and shorten the fuse of the jolliest of Santas.
Fortunately, fans of the Lapland climate - and people afflicted by an extreme approach to shopping - can now seek sanctuary in the air-conditioned bowels of Selfridges.
Down the escalator, past the talking hamsters, remote-controlled helicopters, cook books and Mulberry bags, lurks the ghost of Christmas-yet-to-come.
A mere 149 (now 143) days before some of the planet celebrates the birth of Christ, the department store opened its 'white-themed Christmas shop' offering everything from union flag baubles (£11.95) to polar bear hats (£40). - Sam Jones, The Guardian (29/07/2011)

A motorist who ripped up a parking ticket in front of the police officer who issued it was promptly charged with littering. - The Telegraph (30/07/2011) Read more in This Is Bristol by clicking HERE.

Geez... that second one is taking things just a bit too far, isn't it?! The first one had me really laughing. :)

The mobility scooter jousting is too funny! And I'm so against the early promotion of Christmas that I barely read the last article. Harumph.

I love your sense of humor (humour), Petty! I'm not sure which story I find funniest here.

Came in to say Hi. I'd been away from blogger for sometime due to inconveniences and can't be that frequent for a month from now i suppose.

Hoping everything is good with you.

Ah Tracey...your posts never fail to bring me a smile. Or a laugh...egads with the scooter love triangle! But the Christmas department opening already? Yeah...a bit early even for this fan of the holiday. O_o

I liked both the cases of litter- the Magicaian and the Police ticket for the ripping the police ticket

Back home in India I wonder the situation if enacted there!!

By the way I feel that the Magician must have if he was sure of his talent stood his ground and displayed the trick.

LOL;...it's really hillarious.

Just to share with you, here is something I found in FB

1 - Open Google Maps (directions).
2 - Type China as your starting point.
3 - Type Taiwan as your destination.
4 - Choose travel by car.
5 - Read step 48. (must read!)

I wonder who wrote the instructions .

I adore the woman who excited such passion in a gentleman! And, I'm really sure the magician had intended to pick the card up, no?
