FROM A HORSE WITH A MOSTACHE TO MARRIAGE AT 84.

Meet Alfie.....

..... THE STUBBORN STALLION IN NEED OF A SHAVE. You'd be forgiven for thinking that Alfie the stallion is chewing on a  Barbie Doll. In fact, that mass of blond hair at the end of his nose is actually his moustache. - The Mail (05/08/2011)

Neigh, surely not another horsey storey?

FRED IS COLOURBLIND. A DRUNKEN horse and trap driver who ran a red light tried to claim it was the animal’s fault – as it was colour blind.
Police stopped gypsy John Mulvenna, 56, and noticed he smelt of alcohol after his horse Fred pulled the carriage the wrong way up a one-way street and trotted past the stop sign.
Prosecutor Jayne Ormrod said: “The defendant smelt of drink and he was also staggering around. When asked why the horse and carriage had gone through the traffic lights he said the horse was colour blind.” - The Mirror (06/08/2011)

Spot the mistake ........

BUNGLING WORKMEN MISSPELL ROAD SIGN. It couldn’t be claerer... sorry, clearer. Bungling council workers misspelt this huge ‘keep clear’ road marking in Kingswinford, West Midlands. - The Metro (05/08/2011)

And now for one of those articles I probably shouldn't have laughed at ....... but did.

A pensioner was rerscued from his mobility scooter seconds before it burst into a fireball.
Aiden Cassidy, 77, described how he was moments from being "barbecued" on his scooter after it was engulfed in flames as he drove down the street.
"The flames were coming over the back where the batteries were and nearly touching my feet. One of the battereies exploded and the next thing I knew it went up." - The Telegraph (05/08/2011) PS I should mention that no pensioners where actually harmed.

More from the world of 'elf' and safety gone mad ......

Villagers have been told they cannot plant six tree saplings along a roadside because they are not qualified to dig holes. - The Telegraph (06/08/2011)

Never too old for romance.

An 84-year-old bachelor is to marry a bride of 94.
Derek Walker will wed Vi Stannard next month, 12 years after he proposed.
Mrs Stannard seperated from her first husband 40 years ago but does not believe in divorce. She is free to remarry after he died, aged 97. - The Telegraph (07/08/2011)

PLEASE NOTE : Wherever possible I will endeavour to bring you the links to articles I have used in my Media Monday posts but this is not always possible.

Is that horse's mustache for real??? How bizarre!!

Funny collection...even the mobility scooter fire (which I know I shouldn't be laughing at!).

I have such a hard time believing the horse didn't swallow a Barbie doll!
