HOLIDAY READING CHALLENGE 2010.

Yeah!!!!! Wowhhooooo!!!!

Can you tell I'm excited?

Despite my first holiday reading challenge not being too big a success last year - seasonal reading material seemed to completely bypass my local library - I've been looking forward to doing another one ever since .... well, for a while now so was pleased when I saw THIS mentioned by Mary @ Bookfan.

Hopefully better prepared this year, I've been noting down some of the books I know have been read by you and intend to march (that's right, march) into our library and demand politely request that they try their best to get hold of some of them.

Running from the 15th of November until the 31st of December, Nely, this years hostess with the mostest asks the following:-

* You read anywhere from 1 to 5 books for the challenge - though you are welcome to read more.
* The size of the book does not matter, nor does the genre. It is also okay for the book to overlap with other challenges. The only thing I ask is that they are not children's books. YA is okay. And so are re-reads.
* And now, here's the clincher... they must be holiday related books. That's right, the holiday doesn't really matter, but it would be more "jolly" if your choices were Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.
* To sign up - leave a link back to your challenge post. There will also be a post for review links as well as one for challenge wrap-ups.
* And.... there will be goodies. That's right, we'll call them presents. At the end of every week that the challenge is running I will choose one winner from the review links. Meaning the more books you read, review and link up, the more chances you have at winning a "present".
Care to join me? Click HERE to go visit Nely and sign up for what sounds like a fun challenge.

Whoops! Nearly forgot to mention some of the books I'm considering.

CALL ME MRS MIRACLE by Debbie Macomber. (Mary)
THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE CLUB by Ann Pearlman. (Vivienne)
MISTLETOE AND MAGIC by Lisa Cach and others. (Teresa)
A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Charles Dickens.
Thanks to the bloggers (names in brackets) who passed on details of these books. If any of my other blogger buddies know of any seasonal stories please let me know. Oh, and for details of the books read for last years challenge please click on Book Challenges at the top of the page.

Good luck!! Last year's was my first challenge, too. I think the main reason I did it was because I'd never done any challenges before and I was anxious to. I'll pass this time since it's really the hardest time of year for me to find the time to read.

I look forward to reading all your reviews of these!!

That sounds like loads of fun! That library better have those books...haha, otherwise, they'll have to face your polite requests. ;)
