Standalone First book in the Love & Mishaps series

Convent girl seeks love. But there are one or two hiccups…

Perdita Riley is facing the greatest dilemma of her life. Why had she taken Violet Freestone's advice on how to make herself look more alluring? It led her into the arms of a womaniser. And now Perdita has to deal with a huge setback.

Actually, Setback Number One isn't huge yet, but it won't be long before it is.

To cheer herself up, Perdita goes shopping, where an extraordinary encounter deposits her, literally, into the lap of Saul Hadley. She would like to stay there, but Setback Number One is going to get in the way.

Will she find a way to deal with what has happened? Can she manage the complications of her growing attraction to Saul?

This hilarious situational romantic comedy will keep you gripped until the very end.

Love & Pollination is Book 1 of the Love & Mishaps Quirky Romantic Comedy Standalone Series

Love & Pollination: A charming and sweet love story set in the Bristol area, UK.
Heat level: mild - sometimes described as ‘fade to black’ - and comedic.
Language: mild.

Of course its all very much a matter of taste but 'hilarious'? Hmm! Maybe not but this slightly bonkers novel certainly put a big smile on my face and even had me chuckling at times ... but then how could it fail to do so when we have characters issuing dating advice which equates the importance of finding the right attire to 'attract a man' as being akin to flowers being bright and colourful in order for attract the bees that pollinate them?

A nice, heart-warming read with a plot and characters that I readily related to. Yes, there are those 'Perditas' out there who, the whole 'birds and bees' lesson having passed them by, are that naive as many who were educated by Catholic nuns in the 70's and 80's will testify.

With its fair share of twists and turns, I loved going on this journey with Perdita who, though I wasn't sure I'd enjoy as a character in the beginning, grew on me like, well, like the flowers on a plant {sorry I couldn't resist}.

Mari Jane Law lives in the UK and loves cats and chocolate – and books, TV series and films that make her laugh. Through her writing, she discovered she could make other people laugh too.

Her Catholic upbringing gave her ideas for some great fictional characters in the Love & Mishaps Quirky Romantic Comedy Standalone Series. Although there is a new story in each book, the world in which the characters live remains the same and there are major sub-plots involving characters from previous books. So it is better – although not essential – to read them in order to maximise enjoyment.

She hopes those who buy or borrow her work have as much fun reading it as she had in writing it.

The flower connections in this story sound cute and clever. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've learned a bit of romance is good every once in awhile.
