Everyone smiles and waves when the Playbus drives by—at least, almost everybody.

Imagine a whole bus full of costumes and toys and circus fun. After a summer of excitement, everyone is getting ready for a special performance full of talent and laughter.
But the bus driver has one final to make sure the Playbus is ready for the big day too.

Excitement amongst Pen and Paper's Little Bookworms always runs high when they know a book by author Sue Wickstead has arrived and this, her 15th children's book and the 7th to be featured on Pen and Paper, proved no exception.

Aimed at children aged three to nine, whilst still enjoyed by all of the bookworms, the younger ones {aged 4 and 5} straight away shouted for the story to be 'read again' whereas the older two, more confident readers {7 and 9} were more keen to tie in aspects of the story with their recent visit to the circus. But then that's the great thing about this and the author's other books which, along with the colourful, eye catching illustrations, are fun to read whilst also offering some great things to try with the children and endless starting points for conversations.

The Wheels are still turning for Crawley’s exciting Playbus Project.

West Sussex author, Sue Wickstead, has released her 15th children’s picture storybook, titled ‘Maggie’s Circus Bus’.

This book is inspired by the Circus Carnival Adventure of the Bewbush Playbus, and ‘Maggie’ the Ipswich Playbus, which has just received its new Red Playbus.

The story features children’s playtime and a circus performance.

‘Maggie’s Circus Bus’ will be published on the 30th of September 2024. It will be available on Amazon Kindle at the end of August and copies will also be available from Sue’s website.

Additionally, Sue’s books can be found in several local bookshops and transport museums. If you would like more information, you can visit her website www.suewickstead.co.uk, and follow her on social media.

Sue is also part of the ‘Crawley Writers Group’ and the ‘Crawley Creative Writing Group’, and has published and taken part in local events and exhibitions.

Many of Sue’s books have been entered and shortlisted in ‘The Wishing Shelf Book Awards’, the book ‘A Spooky Tale’ was a silver medal winner in 2019. The story was written with her class in school.

With thanks to Rachel of Rachel's Random Resources for organising a paper copy. One of several bloggers participating in the Blog Tour of this book, agree or disagree with me, all opinions are my own; no financial compensation was asked for nor given; threats of violence towards my favourite teddy bear went unheeded as did promises of chocolate.

PLEASE NOTE ... This is the first of my reviews to be posted today, if you haven't already done so be sure to read my second, Beyond The Smiles. Thank you.
