READ ME AND LAUGH: A FUNNY POEM FOR EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR.

READ ME AND LAUGH: A FUNNY POEM FOR EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR chosen by GABBY MORGAN.

READ ME AND LAUGH
contains a funny poem for every day of the year from the very best modern and classic poets. Some will raise a gentle smile while others will make you roar with laughter, but all should bring a little extra brightness to your day.

Includes poems from Allan Ahlberg, Gerard Benson, Valerie Bloom, Lewis Carroll, Charles Causley, Paul Cookson, Roald Dahl, Jan Dean, Peter Dixon, Adrian Henri, Edward Lear, Roger McGough, Wes Magee, Spike Milligan, Ogden Nash, Gareth Owen, Brian Patten, Kit Wright
and many more.

Because of the nature of the book I'm not going to share the First Sentence nor my Memorable Moment given today is the 2nd of February I thought it apt to share this the poem of the day ...

Auntie Betty pulls her cloak on
And the mask - the one with ears.
Almost ready, check the lipstick.
Wait until the neighbours cheer.
Through the window. What a leap!
She lands right in the driver's seat.
Off she goes with style and grace
To make our world a better place.
- Auntie Betty Thinks She's Batgirl by Andrea Shawick

SOURCE ... A charity shop buy.

READ FOR A CHALLENGE? ... No.

MY THOUGHTS ...  Some of them short, others longer. Some of them poems you'll know, some of them poems you won't. Some of them penned by those you know, some by those you won't. Some styles that you'll like, others, well, maybe not so much. Some you'll remember from your childhood, others that you haven't come across before. Some that will raise a smile, others that will make you chuckle and, yet, others that will see you laughing out loud.

Perfect for anyone like me who isn't that hot on poetry. Within this selection of 366 poems - one for each day of the week (yes, there is even one for the 29th of February should it happen to be a leap year) - there really is such a variety of humorous verses written in various styles by various people.

This sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Sounds like a nice book to have. Reading one poem a day actually a good thing to do. With this many poems, some will inevitably not work for some individuals.

Felicity,
Knowing how you feel about
poetry, I think that this
would be a lovely and varied
collection. I will add it to
my list.

Sounds like a great book. Different poems for different moods! I like poetry- but I like some poems more than others. :)
