Let's hear it for the ...
- Hirsuite man who, having sculpted his somewhat hairy back into various designs, has created a 2016 calendar.
- Half million people who tuned into Drummond Puddle Watch to watch Newcastle (my home for those who don't know) residents trying to cross a giant puddle.
- Entrepreneurial fans who have decided to cash in on the above Drummond Puddle's unlikely stardom by selling a bottle of the murky water on eBay. The highest bid (as of Thursday the 7th of January) at more than £60,000 ($ 87,394.88).
- Having been stacked at an awkward angle on the supermarket shelves, the crisps that appear to have a rude name.
- Football supporter who named his daughter Lanesra, only for two years later his wife to discover it was the name of his favourite team (Arsenal) spelt backwards.
- Mathematicians from Liverpool university who reveal the perfect way to slice a pizza using the 'monohedral disc tiling' method.

Haha! As always you bring a smile to my face with your news stories. It seems to be quite the trend to give children names using the backwards spelling of other words. That's funny about the bottled puddle water going for so much.
I'm not sure whether to be impressed or grossed out by that calendar.
Hi Tracy,
I can't stand clowns and have never liked them, even as a child. When we used to go to Florida, we always went to see the static show of 'La Nouba', a Cirque De Soleil production. A brilliant show, but I cringed every time the clowns came on!
It seems now, that all the old fashioned names are making a comeback (Arthur, George, Henry, Ethel etc.). However just a few short years ago when my nieces were young, it was all the rage to make up improbable sounding names. I can remember the youngest going to school with two sisters called Mercedes and Portia, who had a younger sibling called Ferrari! And of course you have to look no further than the Beckham's for Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
Why are there no Tracy's around any more, or Yvonne's, or David's, I hear my hubbie shout!!
Great finds again this week, you are a real media sleuth :)
Yvonne.
You continue to amaze with your knack of picking up such stories.
Some links seem to be in error. Or, perhaps the connectivity issue here.
Great stories this week Tracy.
That puddle video is very strange.
There does seem to be a problem with the link to the last article Anilkumar. Fingers crossed, hopefully a temporary problem. I'll leave the article there in the hope the problem rectifies itself.
Tracy, you found some real doozies (although I couldn't access every story), beginning with the clown who, like the Cowardly Lion, needs a bit of courage or encouragement. The hairy back designs story is so outlandish--I think that story should win the prize this week. Let's hope Lanesra's mother is also a football fan.
Have a super week, Tracy!
Those are all funny! I wonder how the daughter feels about her name. ;-)
Clowns ARE scary. I totally get that one. LOL
Oh I love the puddle watch. We can get so much entertainment out of so little. :D
hahah Lanesra. That's kind of hilarious. It makes me think of the movie Blended, where Adam Sandler has a daughter named Espn (like the sports network).
Still shuddering from the back hair post.... ugh.
Eclectic round up of stories. Thanks for the laughs :-)

I have a Grumpy Cat calendar and one of cities in America, but I so wish I had that one of the man with the hairy back. And if you really believe that you don't know me at all. :D
