THAT BABY WOKE ME UP, AGAIN!

THAT BABY WOKE ME UP, AGAIN! by SHERRY ELLIS.

BACK COVER BLURB: That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN is for all those bleary-eyed families who sincerely believe that they will never again enjoy a full night of sleep. Seen through the eyes of an exhausted sibling, this book is guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most fatigued members of a sleep-deprived household.

Can you count the number of nights you slept after you baby was born? Do you remember--or are you now suffering through--the cries that can mean anything from Change me now, to I'm hungry, to Time to come in and play with me?

In Sherry Ellis' That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN, there's no question about who's the head of the household. It's the baby! The little darling who was born with feed-and-play-on-demand talents is making his message clear: I want you...and I want you now! Ms. Ellis understands the world of the sleep-deprived and felt compelled to write a book that might make every family's sleepless nights bearable. Thus, the first lines of the book:

"I was sleeping in my bed and a dream was in my head when..."

That baby woke me up, AGAIN!

FIRST SENTENCE: I was sleeping in my bed and a dream was in my head when ...

MEMORABLE MOMENT: We counted sheep,
we tried to sleep,
five, six, seven times;

SOURCE: A win courtesy of Sherry Ellis at Mama Diaries.

MY THOUGHTS: Another fun book written in rhyme by Sherry Ellis. That Baby Woke Me, AGAIN! takes a look at the sleep patterns (or lack thereof) of the new born baby as related by an older sister who is kept awake by her younger sibling not realising that it was once her keeping the family awake.

With a new baby (Half Pint, four months) in the family this is one that Little Plum (almost five) could certainly relate to, something borne out by his constant request that the book be read again and again, whilst his younger brother, Elf (two) seemed to delight in the full colour illustrations by Don Berry.

Sounds cute! I like that it's from the point of view of the sibling!

Very cute indeed! I both look forward to and fear my future as a mommy. I'm the eldest of three, and I remember very clearly those long, endless nights of babies crying. I don't miss it. LOL

It might have been long ago, but I do remember the days.

How nice that you have such an appropriate audience to read this to!

This sounds like a fun bur creative way to look at the effects of a younger sibling on a child.

Perhaps it would be a goof read for children in homes where sibling was on the way.

Wonderful to see Sherry's book here! Such a perfect book for siblings with new babies in the family. I had a student tell me about his new baby brother, "He is cute, but he keeps me up all night with his crying. I don't know if I will ever sleep again." Poor kid had bags under his eyes. You don't see that often on a 10 year old! I suggested a sleepover at his gram's (who lives nearby).

Great review!

This is a perfect sibling book! I might have to get this one for a couple of kidlets I know. Their mom just had a new baby! :)
