LET'S TALK ABOUT CATS: CONVERSATIONS ON FELINE BEHAVIOUR.

One of several bloggers to be participating in the Blog Tour of Anita Kelsey's Let’s Talk About Cats: Conversations On Feline Behaviour, for the full list please see the Tour Schedule below.

Let’s Talk About Cats: Conversations On Cat Behaviour features 16 unique in-depth conversations with devoted feline experts, each chapter answering a question about our cats. An abundance of catty conversation points with many useful takeaways for cat owners to improve their own every-day connection with their cats.

This book, the first of its kind, presents the combined wisdom of experts from all over the world on the psychology, behaviour, diet and training of cats, in a relaxed and conversational style.

Contributors include Jackson Galaxy, star of My Cat From Hell and composer David Teie, whose ground-breaking album, Music for Cats, was released by the Universal Music Group.

Each illuminating chapter exudes a love for cats and a wealth of fascinating insights. This book also includes boxed advice and true stories that offer the author’s own professional guidance on cat care topics, explaining the most important cat concepts, giving food for thought and expanding on all the most important issues and debates in the cat world. ... Summary

To understand how to connect with your cat, you may first want to understand the natural behaviours of the feline species and then understand the inner working of your own specific pet. ... First Sentence

We enjoy putting words into our cats' mouths when we speak back to ourselves in cat-reply, never thinking that we might be wrong in our interpretations. We speak to them as we would to a baby, and when cat lovers get together, we speak way more about our cats than any other subject. ... Memorable Moment

MY THOUGHTS ... As someone who at one point shared their lives with three cats, Dotty, Phog and Puck) (and a dog, Peg) I've read my fair share of books on cats and I have to say this is by far the best.

How Can I Bond With My Cat? Why Does My Cat Scratch Furniture? What Should I Be Feeding My Cat?Why Do Cats Need To Be Groomed? Do Cats Grieve?

Long gone (hopefully) are the days when we brought home a cat as an easy option to a dog thinking all we had to do was place a can of Whiskas (other cat foods are of course available) and a saucer of milk before it every now and then, when we didn't give a second thought to its psychological welfare, when we didn't recognise the value of play.

With all of the things you'd expect to find ... and more. Its not just that Let's Talk About Cats delves into all the things that make for a truly healthy and contented puss so much as that it covers the issues you don't normally find covered that makes it such a revelation.

Laid out in such a way that makes for accessible reading; pitched just right that whilst it wasn't too wordy neither did it dumb things down. I loved that each of its chapters began with a clear and concise briefing on what you could expect to learn and then there are all the contributions by/conversations with all manner of cat lovers (photographed with their cat) and the 'catty sum ups'.

SUMMED UP IN A SENTENCE ... A pawsome book (sorry but I couldn't resist), ideal not just for those new to the wonders of being owned by a cat but for those of us who consider ourselves old hands.

ABOUT THE BOOK ... Genre: Cat behaviour/ cat care ~ Publication Date: 28th November 2020 ~ Standalone Book ~ Estimated Page Count: 412

This sounds like a very neat book. I have always had vats. I love cats.

There are indeed a lot of pet owners that can use a source of good information like this.

I have two kitties right now- and love cats (and dogs). How wonderful that this is the best book about cats you have read. That is quite a compliment. Thanks for sharing. :)

Though I've always been a dog person (we currently have seven), I've grown to love cats thanks to having several "grand-kitties". I've forwarded this post to one of my daughters since I think she would be quite interested in the book.

Beautiful cat shown with the author!!

Felicity,
I do not have cats, but I
love them. And I will add
this book to my list. And
Kelly is right about the
cat who is featured with
the author on the picture.
But I am uncertain about
A Taste Of His Own Medicine.
And thank you for your excellent
reviews.

A cat book! I will have to give this one a try. I am always reading up on cats, trying to learn as much about them as I can. I grew up with dogs and have always been a dog person. I still forget sometimes and treat my cats like dogs. I'm sure they don't always appreciate that.
