FROM SPIDERS IN IMMINENT DANGER TO 'SKYDIVING' COWS.

Whilst I endeavour to keep Monday Media family friendly some of the articles featured do have links to articles of a more adult nature. TT

To begin with, two articles from down under ....

My favourite article of the week ...

Police called to a 'domestic dispute' after neighbours heard shouts of 'I'm going to kill you, you're dead! Die! Die!' arrived at a Sydney address to find a man 'dealing with a spider'.

Western Australian police are hunting a group of men seen driving a motorised picnic table through traffic.

From 'motorised vehicle' to another, in the news closer to home ...

When the heavens opened over Ripon in north Yorkshire, one resourceful pensioner converted her mobility scooter into a convertible by placing a laundry basket over head.

A study carried out by Rowes Honey has revealed a third of those aged between 16 and 24 are not aware of where the food they eat comes from with one fifth of young people believing fish fingers are actually made from the fingers of fish and nine percent thinking potatoes grow on trees.

A Manchester couple were surprised when their 24 piece dinner set was delivered in 48 separate boxes. The provider seemingly thinking it prudent that each piece should have its own box which was inside a larger box.

It's hardly Hansel and Gretal ...

Using test products shared by suppliers/close to their see by date, a popular supermarket chain has created the UK's first edible house consisting 1,200 sweet-mince pies, 75kg Parmesan cheese, 30 lobsters, 35kg of smoked salmon, and 3,000 sprouts.

And finally, what happened when it rained not 'cats and dogs but a cow ...

Having fallen 20ft and landed on a Halifax homeowner's roof-top patio a cow was sedated and safely winched to safety.

Ha ha, you've found some classics this week, but the one abut the kids really believing fish fingers come from well, fish fingers is scary!

A motorized picnic table? That's one way to travel! I loved the one about the spider, though. I can totally see that happening.

That is funny about the spider!

Congratulations, Traci. You've won a copy of That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN! I believe I still have your address, so I'll get it in the mail this week. (If I don't have it, I'll let you know.)

Both funny and sad LL Cool Joe. I had thought it some kind of a joke but MR T who works in a college assures me not.

That's amazing Sherry, thank you so much.

I am so glad no one has called the police on me when I am trying to kill a fly that got in the house . . . People can be so creative when it comes to transportation. :-) That poor cow!

As always, thank you for the laughs, Tracy.

Yeah...I can totally see the spider death scene reenacted by myself. Not a big bug/spider person. *-*

Sadly, I'm really not surprised at those statistics on knowing where food comes from. (around here, more chickens have "fingers" than fish) I'm still working out the mental image of bees getting squeezed for their honey that was mentioned in the article. Ha!

haha that story about the spider is hilarious. I can definitely imagine people yelling all sorts. I HATE spiders. I'd probably just be running around screaming.

So THAT is why fish don't have fingers. I get it now. ;)

I'm so on board with the spider thing. I just discovered a black widow and it was HUGE. I give myself total props for not freaking out and setting the whole house on fire. :D

Somebody posted the spider story to my facebook page. Guess that tells you my view on spiders.

I had a friend who was deathly afraid of spiders. She once jumped out of her car while she was driving down my driveway because she saw a spider (and her czar rolled into a hill). I can imagine her screaming and having the police come. :)

The spider story is certainly funny (and a great relief!), but my favorite (or favourite, as 'u' say) is the story about the motorized picnic tables in Australia. They look like so much fun, and as far as I can tell, the "passengers" seem to be keeping their balance, and obeying the traffic laws. Thanks for a super fun MM post, Tracy!

I read about the man and the spider. I keep picturing Dean Winchester from Supernatural when he screamed like a girl. .lol

The one about the spider is brilliant, I saw that on BuzzFeed the other day - poor spiders, they get such a bad rep! Brilliant links as always here Tracy. - Tasha

Hi Tracy,

Watching the ASDA edible house going up, brings back memories of our many Christmas's spent in Disney World, Florida. Every hotel would have an edible Christmas scene in the lobby, from gingerbread to chocolate and coloured candies, including characters, gifts etc.

Each would come complete with a crib sheet, detailing exactly the amount of ingredients used, making most people lick their lips at the very thought :)

I'm afraid sprouts etc. pale in comparison to all that sweet stuff - I have a very sweet tooth, although you would never have guessed ... would you? :)
