SOMEBODY HAD BETTER CALL GOD COZ HE'S MISSING AN ANGEL.

Hmm! Not impressed but then its certainly no worse than these, 2014's top ten worst chat-up lines.

And way better than this ...

Trundling along in Madge (for those of you who don't know Madge is my electric wheelchair) one sunny afternoon a few years ago I was stopped by a young(ish) man who after engaging me in general conversation - presumably about the weather (well, I am English and as every body knows we are obsessed by the weather so I think it pretty safe to say it would have been mentioned) - he went on to ask me out on a date with these words ...

"So how about a drink. I've always wanted to date a crippled lass with her own wheels"

Hardly the most romantic proposition I've ever had, I thanked him for his kind offer but declined.

So, what is the best/worst chat-up line you have ever heard?

Ha ha that's hysterical. Sorry, maybe I shouldn't have laughed, but I can see why you said no. :D

No one's ever chatted me up, which doesn't surprise me really. :D

Tracy, I don't think I can "top" any of these! Too funny!!

That was good and bad at the same time! LOL

My bad ones I've gotten were just bad so I'll leave it at that. :) Oh and yes, I did snark back at them. :)

Oh, wow! I can't believe he said that to you! It probably would have made me laugh, though.

The only thing I've heard in recent years that could even be remotely like a pick-up line was just plain creepy. I'll leave it at that.

Wow, that line really might qualify for the top ten.

Though not exactly a pick up line, I once knew a guy who actually gave out autographed pictures of himself with his phone number on them.

Tracy- That one you were given was pretty terrible! I don't think I can beat it. I have had people use the standard pick up lines on me- about God missing one of his angels, etc. I have always been curious how people can say these things with a straight face! ;)

That was pretty bad. I've had quite a few, too. One guy said he felt it was destiny that he'd entered my life, and that we were supposed to be together. Needless to say, I ran as fast as I could the other way!

Oh wow, that's so awful! I've never been given a line, so I don't have one!!

How insensitive! It's not hard to imagine why you declined. I would have, too.

I've never been given a line, so I can't contribute.

Hi Tracy,

I am surprised that being the Northern Lass you are, that you thanked him for his kind offer ... I would have shown him just how good I was with my own wheels and then told him that I have always wanted to date a rude man with crutches!!

This line from Oscar Wilde, is much more gentlemanly and more likely to get results from this Southern Girl!

“I have nothing to declare but the fact that you should go out with me.”

Don't know if my comment got through...

It sounds to me as though he was trying to be funny. Good in theory, but only appropriate if you know the person and thus know if they'll take it well. Certainly he shouldn't have said it then.

Here's hoping by your rejection he thinks about changing his tact if he finds another girl in wheels he wants to date!

My God, that was terrible. He probably thought he was being witty ...

I've never understood this 'line' thing. I've always thought that to start a relationship that it may be a good idea NOT to give the impression that you are a complete, patronising smug idiot. Certainly as a hetero male I've always expected that women are not so easily taken in. Is this not so?
