I SAY, I SAY, I SAY ......

  • What is your beard/moustache like? Scanty? Bushy? Clipped?
  • Have you visited a farm in the previous week?
  • How many wives do you intend to bring with you?
  • What side of the bed does your partner sleep on?
  • In times of either peace or war have you ever been involved, or suspected of involvement, in war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide?
  • Have you ever been involved in, supported or encouraged terrorist activities in any country?
If you think some of the above questions which were being asked on Visa applications sound a bit bizarre, how about the below questions asked by individuals tackling the forms?
  • "Do you know if it's easier to find a wife in England? I'm struggling here."
  • "Is everybody friends with the Queen?"
  • "I want to be closer to Elton John. He doesn’t come to Togo. Do you see him much in Britain?"
  • "Is it legal to marry your car?"
  • "Somebody told me that Australia was founded by criminals. Do I have to have a criminal record to move there?"

Thanks to Paul for sharing what I'm assured are these true howlers via FaceBook.

What bizarre questions! And did Visa actually think someone would answer honestly?

Haha! The last reply: "Somebody told me that Australia was founded by criminals. Do I have to have a criminal record to move there?"

Oh no! I have no mustache. I think that is a good thing since I'm female, no? :)

Hm... the US also had a lot of English criminals too... LOL

ha! that is bizarre that they ask these questions.

Do they really ask such questions for Visa?

Though I understand the terrorist and war crimes questions, I wonder what the motivation was for banks to ask the other questions on credit applications.

wow, this is hilarious! Where does the "Australia is full of criminals" idea come from anyway? LOL

Were these questions for a credit card application or a visa application to visit the country? Either way, very strange (but funny) questions!

That is crazy and hillarious, it has been a while since I filled out any forms but none had anything like that on it.

This is too funny. Thanks for sharing!

(The word verification I have to retype today to comment is "cannot flatuate"--that made me laugh too.)

Turns out these were in fact people applying for visas to enter various countries which makes them even more bizarre.

To answer your question Shooting Stars it goes back to the time when Britain sent many convicts out to Australia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convicts_in_Australia

Good grief! Although....it does seem they are much more invasive question wise nowadays....perhaps not as surprising as first perceived. *-*
