DOUBLE CLICK.

DOUBLE CLICK by LISA BECKER.

Fans of the romantic hit Click: An Online Love Story will enjoy another voyeuristic dive into the lives of Renee, Shelley, Ashley, Mark and Ethan, as Double Click picks up with their lives six months later. Are Renee and Ethan soul mates? Does Mark ever go on a date? Has Shelley run out of sexual conquests in Los Angeles? Will Ashley's judgemental nature sabotage her budding relationship? Through a marriage proposal, wedding, new baby and unexpected love twist, Double Click answers these questions and more. Readers will continue to cheer, laugh, cry and cringe following the email exploits of Renee and friends.
...... Outer back cover.

FIRST SENTENCE EMAIL (Chapter 1): May contain a slight spoiler so I've left it up to you whether you hi-light this or not.

From: Renee Greene - May 17, 2012 - 9:15AM
To: Shelley Manning
Subject: Dress fitting
On one hand, planning this wedding is going to be the death of me. What made me think I could hold down a full time job and plan this wedding?!? But, on the other, I'm SO excited. I was born for this. Really! Don't forget - your final dress fitting is tomorrow at noon. I have mine at 11.30, so I'll see you there.

MEMORABLE MOMENT (PAGE 135 ): From: Renee Greene - September 6, 2012 - 11.18PM
To: Shelley Manning
Subject: High School Drama!
....... With all this drama and the three-hour time difference, you'd think Id be exhausted. But no! I can't sleep. So, I'm sitting in his parents' kitchen emailing you and slowly - one tiny sliver at a time - devouring a homemade chocolate cake.

MY THOUGHTS: Normally anything but a fan of the diary entry/letter/email format of writing I was more than pleasantly surprised by just how much I had enjoyed Click: An Online Love Story (see my review HERE). Would it be a fluke, a one-off and, most worryingly, would I be disappointed by this the second book in the series?

Thankfully not, in fact quite the reserve, I found Double Quick to be even more of an entertaining read and as such am already longing for part 3.

Once again written as a series of emails between several friends, packed with laugh-out-loud moments, the story really benefited from the addition of Cassidy who, though I don't want to give too much away, is one of those characters who you'll instantly recognise as the individual who sends every one on their contact list cute/annoying (depending on your point of view) images of baby animals.

A great, fun read, because of its quirky, instantly recognisable format a perfect novel for the digital age, Double Click, essentially the story of a group of friends in search of their 'Happy Ever Afters', reads well enough as a standalone novel though I highly recommend it as best read after Click which, besides introducing most of the characters, is a wonderfully humorous read in itself.

Yay! So glad you enjoyed it...and what a surprise as well not only taking into account the format it is written in but the fact that it's a sequel. Sounds like a fun read overall; thanks for sharing!

Although I'm not much into "romance", I think both this and the book before it sound like lots of fun.

Heeey.... you won the first book thru my blog, right? Or was it another blogger? Anyway... your review entices me to read the first one. I'm just having this weird thoughts on a story written in an email format. It might not look good in my eyes.... awww... maybe I could try the first one. . .

Not a fan of 'romance' myself whilst this without a doubt has a air of the RomCom about it I think it has so much more to offer.

Like this book I was also kindly sent a copy of Click from the author Lisa.

Ah I don't think the format would bother me and I've read several reviews that like this book. I may try it just to read something different than the normal fare.

Letter-kind of writing I've come across that I liked was "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society", a historical novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. --I like funny reads ..thanks for putting this on my radar.

Looking forward to Izzi's letter.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Read as a readers group read whilst I thought it well written in this instance I really didn't enjoy the letter written style.
