FROM THE OLDEST TO THE MOST IRONIC.

Thank goodness for our laptop .....
The world’s oldest original working digital computer has been rebooted after lying forgotten and gathering dust in storage for 20 years.
Weighing an incredible 2.5 tonnes, it is as heavy as 20,000 iPhone 5s and could fill an entire room, the 61-year-old Harwell Dekatron, or WITCH, computer has clattered back into action at The National Museum of Computing, based at Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire, after a mammoth three-year restoration project. More

Dinner is s(w)erved ......
A set of cars that make the vehicles in the classic cartoon Wacky Races look like a bunch of sensible runarounds are set to go under the hammer.
One can go flat out without breaking the speed limit, one (upper left) is the world's smallest roadworthy and another (lower left) gives a new meaning to the term fast food. More

Hmm, I wonder how often this has to be watered?
Displayed at Manchester's Trafford Centre this 30ft plastic evergreen Christmas tree is made of entirely from 350,000 Lego bricks and is adorned with 450 Lego baubles. More

And talking of trees .... is this Britain's worst?
This unsightly and unshapely Christmas tree, with just a few sorry-looking bulbs and baubles, was slammed as Britain's worst festive decoration this week after crowds jeered at its big unveiling.
About a thousand people, including excited children, turned out in the bitter cold to watch pantomime stars Gareth Gates and Toyah Wilcox flick the switch to turn on Herne Bay's Christmas lights but many stormed off in disgust as boos and jeers rang out. More

Remember Crispian the hedgehog who was rescued after getting his head stuck in a packet of crisps?
A blog has been set up in his honour where fans can follow his adventures at the Prickles Rescue Centre in Somerset.
Crispian sent out his first blog post (click HERE to view) which read: 'Please bear with me whilst I learn how to type…I’m only a little hedgehog and my prickly spines get in the way of the keyboard.' More

When Harry Met Sally Miss McFeathers met Pendragon .....
A lovestruck turkey who has fallen for a peacock has been granted the best of presents ..... a Christmas pardon.
Lucky Miss McFeathers will be spared a festive roasting since she's taken a shine to strutting peacock Pendragon. More

Most ironic article of the week?
A pensioner grew cannabis with a street value of £12,000 to pay for ...... a drugs rehabilitation course for his son. More

The ingenuity of growing cannabis nto fund rehabilitation is wonderful. Taking things a bit too far?

The oldest computer must be hell of an albatross or call it white elephant.

First off, many of your subtitles cracked me up!!

As usual, you've found the best stories to take the edge off of Monday (and the start of a hectic week). Thank you, Petty! I love that tiny "Smart car".

P.s I feel sad for the crimbo tree, they could have added more to it so it didn't look so bad

I remember when computers took up an entire room, so now feel very, very old. ;)

Love the lego tree, but the tree in Herne Bay really made me laugh! How embarrassing!
