Hello

As an almost computer illiterate (yes, there are some of us still out there), Hubby (he of little patience) has often encouraged me to drag myself into the 21st(?) century and learn how to use the net. Something I've always resisted when, after all, why would I when books, pen, paper and stamps are all still available? And besides which never let it be said I'd put our postie out of a job. Anyway, to cut a long story short, this has now all changed. Partly due to my increasing boredom (I'm largely confined to the house due to mobility difficulties) and partly thanks to a group of Hubby's fellow "bloggers" and their partners who we met in Leeds last month.

Anyway welcome to my first post. I'm not sure where this whole blogging thing will take me. At present I intend to write about one of my passions - books and in particular the last two or so books I have read at my book club. However it may also lead to me commenting on films, t.v. watched, newspapers read and/or the antics of my fellow blogger/sometimes (when I remember to put myself in his diary) hubby.

You see that wasn't so bad and divorce wasn't mentioned, not even once.

Welcome to Blogland, Petty Witter. Remember me? I'm the old lady who told you that I had fallen in love with your husband. You said that I could have him, but he never came. I'm still waiting.

I wasn't sure where the whole blogging thing would take me, and I'm still not sure after two-plus years.

Our lunch in Leeds was lovely, wasn't it? I wish I could have spent more time talking to you, but now we can talk online.

Books? Oh yes. I remember books. Ha! Just joking. I still love and read books.

Enjoy your blogging!

Hi! I started a blog just so I could easily comment on blogs like your hubby's and others. I have yet to make my own first entry, but I look forward to reading your blog, too.

Oh, and now I see that one of your interests is hedgehogs! I love them, but of course living in the US, never get to see them live. I do have a little collection of them though that sit on my dining room sideboard. I love their beady little eyes. :-)

Thank you for your message of support, I need as much of that as possible. Yes it was nice to meet you all in Leeds. It's always nice to put faces to names and Hubby speaks about you all so much that I feel I know you all. It would have been nice to speak more but I know how much Hubby was looking forward to meeting you in person.

So, you are still waitig. I'm afraid with Hubby you could be waitig an awful long time. I was going to tell you how I'd been waiting a mere 25 years for him to propose but I hear you have already heard that story. Oh well I'm sure there are plenty more! And in the meantime perhaps I could mount an on-line proposal campaign.

Susan, many thanks for your message. You would not believe how excited I am to receive them, like a child at Christmas comes to mind.

So you also like hedgehogs. I have quite a collection and am a lifetime member of the The British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) who both fundraise and educate for hedgehog welfare, not many people know they are an endangered species.

Hi Petty Witter, I've enjoyed your blog so far! Keep up the good work, as well as your commitment to the joke preservation trust.

Take Care

Hello C. Thank you for replying, as if you would dare not to. Grief, this is sooo exciting. Will certainly keep the jokes coming, though I'm relying on you to supply them.

Hello, Petty Witter! I'm only just catching up with your hubby's blog - how wonderful to see you've started up your own now!!

I make sure that Susan knows. Having said that, she's so bad at blogging that she hasn't even seen Mimi's reports of our Leeds meeting yet!
