Part thriller, part domestic drama which, combined together with its supernatural element, made for an enthralling roller-coaster of a read. My only gripe being that for me personally, I'd like to have seen more of the supernatural.
A very impressive debut, cleverly plotted. The characters; main characters, Brigid and Josh ... wow!
You can positively feel Brigid's desperation as she struggles to keep it all together ... and that's before a private investigator starts snooping around convinced there is more to Brigid's 'death' than meets the eye.
And as for Josh; my favourite character, ooh! The way he manipulates Brigid. Oh and his descent into paranoia as he becomes increasingly reliant on drugs and alcohol ...
Most definitely an author to look out for. If The Winter's Sleep is anything to go by Monica Cafferky has a promising future ahead of her.

With thanks to Rachel of Rachel's Random Resources for organising a paper copy. One of several bloggers participating in the Blog Tour of this book, agree or disagree with me, all opinions are my own; no financial compensation was asked for nor given; threats of violence towards my favourite teddy bear went unheeded as did promises of chocolate.

Sorry it didn't have quite as much supernatural as you wanted, but it sounds really well done overall!

I don't care much for supernatural OR dark romance, but have to admit this sounds pretty interesting.
Felicity,
This sounds like a very compelling
debut novel and I will keep it in
mind.
And thank you for your excellent
review.

Some books sound good but when we read them they let us down
Sounds good especially for fans of the supernatural genre.
This does look good despite the low supernatural elements.
It's really great when the author can bring the characters to life like that. Thanks for sharing!
This sounds like a great premise!
