Jamie Anderson, author of the hilarious and heartwarming Someone to Kiss, is back with another witty, acerbic, and relatable story. Love, Julie is a richly emotional tale of recovery, forgiveness, and romance that readers have praised for “nailing the humor and snarky nature of our generation.”

Sensitively written and deeper than you might have thought, with the exception of some short 'present day' emails Love, Julie is mainly written in the past. Something that can {and often does} impede the flow of the novel but thankfully the narrative flowed beautifully ... and oh, my goodness, the twist at the end! I didn't see that coming.

As much a tale of self discovery, redemption, resilience, hope and the power of love to overcome as anything else. In Julie, love interest {Luke} and Julie's brother and best friend {Ben and Kate} we have an enjoyable, well penned ensemble. Julie and Luke's journey a wonderful one; her vulnerability and constant self-doubting in stark contrast to his unwavering support making for a wonderful contemporary romance.

Despite the fact that I found some of the dialogue between Julie and Luke a bit, hmm, a bit immature, lacking in self awareness for characters supposedly in their 40's, the very fact that they are more mature than the typical characters found in 'romances', yes, even contemporary ones, made for a refreshing change and was no doubt one of the reasons that I so readily connected with them.

Having enjoyed their first novel, Someone to Kiss, this, their second novel, has proved itself to be every bit as good a read; so much so that, a name to look out for, I live in hope of a third novel.

Jamie Anderson is based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. A proud Canadian and Saskatchewanian, she wanted to set her first two novels in the place she was born and raised.

She’s been writing for as long as she can remember, and has been reading for longer than that. She lives happily with her mountain of books, her TV and her two plants.
