Travel around the world and discover the stories of 20 conservationists and the endangered animals they are helping to save, including the orangutan, blue whale, Indian tiger, rhino, honeybee, Komodo dragon and sea turtle. Positive, uplifting and packed full of information, with 20 fun activities for children to try, this book will show children no one is too small to make a difference.
Whilst totally age appropriate for its targeted market of those aged six+ to eleven years, a very 'grown-up' read; its message that everyone can make a difference ... even if it is only a small one.
Beautifully illustrated, each page dedicated to an individual champion, the book features a perfect blend of conservationists; male and female, young and old, living and deceased.
Totally inspirational, Caring Conservationists is full of information, has lots of activities for children keen to investigate and, as well as the more 'exotic', features ways in which children can care for wildlife in their own way in a section that looks at how they can take small steps to help the natural world and live a greener life.
Beginning with an 'ordinary' young women who, having been stung by bees aged four, went on to became a 'bee champion', setting up a charity that supports bees and bee keepers, my little book-worms were soon discussing how they too would become conservationists who would change the planet.

With thanks to Rachel of Rachel's Random Resources for another well organised Blog Tour.
Agree or disagree with me, all opinions are my own. No financial compensation was asked for nor given. Threats of violence towards my favourite teddy bear went unheeded as did promises of chocolate.
This sound like a fun, yet very practical, book for older children. I'm glad you enjoyed it, too!

Love this! I remember when I was younger (in the 70's) and environmental issues where coming to the forefront. We were sure our generation was the one to fix it. Sad we're still trying to even acknowledge the problems but happy there are still people fighting the good fight and showing kids a better path.
