FAREWELL TO THE SOLSTICE.

Along with MY REVIEW of The Winter Solstice (The Sacred Traditions Of Christmas) by John Matthews and the subsequent posting of THE JOLLY OLD HAWK, I simply had to post this farewell to the solstice.

Noel is leaving us,
Sad to say,
But he will come again,
Adieu Noel.

His wife and his children
Weep as they go;
On a grey horse
They ride through the snow.

The kings ride away
In the snow and the rain;
But after twelve months,
We shall see them again.

- From an old French Epiphany carol.

  2. I have to admit that I don't mind leaving the Winter Solstice behind, it means fewer days of winter.

  10. Hello:

    Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on the Ian Rutledge book.

    They are not a series...Ian Rutledge is just a character in all of Charles Todd's books. You don't need to read from the beginning.

    They are always good.
