I wasn't feeling particularly inspired poetry wise today until I came across some Saint Patrick's Day poems, one of which is:St. Patrick's Day
Leprechauns peeking,
Around a willow tree,
Pussy willows waking,
Longing to be free.
Colleens and shamrocks
And castles old and gray,
Put them all together
To make St. Patrick's Day.
Found on a wonderful site called CANTEACH which offers some great resources to elementary workers, you can find some further Saint Patrick's Day poetry by clicking HERE.
And talking of links to poems Martha at A SENSE OF HUMOR IS ESSENTIAL posted another ode to the Irish on her blog, click HERE to view.
Today's post was part of FREEVERSE, a weekly feature hosted by Cara at OOH ... BOOKS!
Yesterday I saw this post i my dash box but was unable to open. I though again there is pooter problem.
ReplyDeleteNo problems that I know of Chitra. I did write this yesterday, scheduling it for today but that doesn't explain why it appeared on your dash box yesterday. Another mystery I fear.
ReplyDeleteI clicked yesterday, too, but figured you'd just posted it then decided to re-schedule it for today. (which evidently was the case)
ReplyDeleteI liked this poem, but then I'm a sucker for St. Patrick's day stuff.
Ah, this is great. I love leprechauns (at least the sound of them - not sure I would love meating them).
ReplyDeleteAh Happy St Paddy's day!
