Sequins (not too mention cleavage) aplenty, raunchy maids-a-butter churning, a man running in a giant hamster wheel, another man informing us he didn't want to be a cheesecake, and, well, Austria's Conchita Wurst ..... it could only be Eurovision 2014.
Full of the usual wackiness and political voting there were only two things really different about this year .... Mr T and yours truly managed to pick the entry that was to come second. Not bad going considering it isn't unknown for our choice to score null points - Oh, and the UK's entry didn't come last.
Anyway, below are two of the entrants. One our choice and the other the song that went on to win, the idea being to see if you can guess which is which - I've obscured the answers (scroll over them to view) so no peaking until you have guessed. Oh, and though I'd love to know your thoughts on the acts and which act YOU thought we'd picked please don't gave away the answer in your comment.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both music clips, but they're so different it would be like trying to compare apples and oranges. Both have their merits.

Eurovision is a very much maligned topic in our house, at least it is by me! All that money for the biggest party political broadcast in the world and this year's winner was a definite 'nil pointer' from me!

ReplyDeleteI liked Conchita’s song on the show but having listed to it in the car yesterday; I'm not so sure. I think all the hype, and dramatic staging made it sound better than it really is. Or maybe it just has to grow on me.
I really like Conchita Wurst and her song. It has a real Shirley Bassey feel to it. I didn't watch the show live as I was working but I watched some clips on You Tube
