I don't know about this one. The "erotic and violent nature" make it less appealing to me. The stories, or the heart of the stories , are timeless and are as relevant today as when they were written. That being said, I must confess I am not overly fond of the prose just from the two passages you copied. And while I have no issue with modernizing the fairy tale, I still believe the retelling should keep to the spirit of the original story. I don't think I would really like the steamy dressing up of the story.
But now I know not to bother, so thanks for the head's up!Bohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05116544104167420505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2372511622978085955.post-8216863614266535802014-06-02T00:34:27.687+01:002014-06-02T00:34:27.687+01:00I love that you include the first sentence of the ...I love that you include the first sentence of the book in your review. Except, maybe, for the "true story of the three little pigs" my children had growing up, told from the wolf's viewpoint. ;)

I would probably pass on this. If the story brings something new and different cool but just rehashing someone else's story is not interesting. I don't know if they have it there but there is a really funny children's book which retells the Three Pigs story from the wolf's perspective that I do love.

You're the blog I love today. http://www.astarinmyownuniverse.com/2014/05/31/share-the-love-2-pen-and-paper/
:-)
TraciStarTracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02119043204191845721noreply@blogger.com
